My name is Mohamed Ali Abdelhafez, the one behind Roborizon.com. My adventure in the world of robotics has been quite a journey, taking me from studying hard to earn my MSc. in Robotics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany, all the way to doing hands-on research that helps make farming more efficient and sustainable with the help of robots.
The road wasn’t easy. My master’s thesis was about making a robot see and understand its surroundings to move around—a tough challenge but also a super exciting one. Along the way, I bumped into a big challenge: finding the right info to help me out. Sometimes, the info was too “textbook-ish,” and other times, it was all about the gadgets without explaining the “why” or “how.” I thought, “It shouldn’t be this hard for anyone else interested in robots.”
That’s where the idea for Roborizon came from. It’s my way of putting out a helping hand to anyone dipping their toes into robotics, particularly the cool area of robots that work in fields and farms. Whether you’re studying robotics, just starting your career, or simply curious, I want to make learning about robots fun, interesting, and a lot less daunting.
Here on Roborizon, we’re all about peeling back the layers of robotics to reveal the simple beauty underneath. We’ll talk about all the building blocks of robots, how they see the world, decide where to go, and how all of this can be used to do awesome stuff, especially in farming.
